HotelThere are so many travel blogs and articles available on the internet about where to go, which hotels to stay at, what to pack, how to move around, what and where to eat and so on. As per the World Tourism Organization, 940 million people traveled to another country in 2010 alone - that's a huge portion of humanity shifting around on the globe! In hospitality terms this could translate as room occupancy at hotels worldwide of nearly half a billion, more or less. The sheer number of people moving around in today's global village is amazing - visiting each other's land, tasting each other’s cuisine, listening to each other’s music and watching shows and taking in each other’s history in its heritage showcasing etc. In India, Delhi Airport upgraded its capacity to handling up to 60 million travelers. Many hotspots of the world have similarly followed suit. There are a large number of different styles of hotels around the globe. There are hotels that cater to families to ones that cater specifically to corporate exec's, from backpackers to multi- millionaires and everything in between. India is no exception. Most travelers today seek budget friendly stays with luxury budget globetrotting being the flavor of the day. Which is why luxury budget hotels have mushroomed all over the world. New Delhi, the modern capital of vast and ancient India, has thousands of such excellent hotels. A traveler is spoilt for choice as far as a Hotels in Delhi goes. There are numerous user friendly travel portals with detailed, useful information on economical yet comfortable accommodation - with attractively displayed honest images of hotel and rooms, facilities and rates. To save time it is wise to do some research these websites before booking a hotel, car or tour - time saved is money saved as well. If you are not a backpacker territory animal, no need to worry now, you can still be a budget traveler buff. A tip or two - packing lightly and rightly are the first and second rules of the game. And baggage with wheels is always better than with not. As for the super important foodie part, the sky is the limit. Rule of thumb is wherever you go local food is always cheaper than the familiar dishes from back home. So unless you are seriously attacked by a weepy bout of homesickness, best is to go adventurous and relish the different, often yummy cuisines that are prepared with all good intentions to make the tourist ask for additional helpings. As for moving around, make sure to hop onto trains and specialized tourist buses - don't always make a beehive for the nearest airport. Train rides go a long way in giving exotic glimpses of the destination country, not to mention interesting eye opening conversations and even lifelong friendships you may strike up with fellow travelers.
